Comic Script, part 1 (sort of)

(Nir Script, parte ....um.....well, there is no real part. This is the last half of chapter 1. I have the first half in my head, but haven't written it down yet. What a shame. But here, I had to write it down quickly because I had the idea in the middle of night, so it needs some polishing.
To summarize the situation: Rue, just coming back from a foraging trip, is told by the Matron (the village leader) that the Matron has had a true-dream sent to her by Krogoa, the Tree Lady. There are five messages that must be given to five different people, in a certain order, time, and place:
One must be given to a beautiful woman who hails from Ssardeel, on the day she meets Rue, at the time when she is in great pain.
One must be given to a blue-skinned man, a great mage, who hails from Zardool, on the day he returns home, at a moment when he is uncertain.
One must be given to a creature of the Free Islands, on the day she is trapped, at a moment when she is filled with hate.
And the last must be given to a god-man who hails from Bardosa, on the day he leaves, at the moment when he asks a question.
The messages are:
No one else was chosen.
You will continue.
You will die.
And finally,
Yes.
The Matron draws her up a map, and Rue sets off on her journey. She is distracted by a strange light along the way, and finds it to be a glowing fungus. Realizing that she is lost now that she has left the path, Rue wanders the unfamiliar forest until she encounters a strange blue man caught in a tree. She helps him down, and he introduces himself as Jyn (not Djin, as written here) Shimelsl, Head of the Mage's Guild of Zardool. The following scene commences.)

Rue: A blue man.....a great mage....

Djin: Yes, precisely.

Rue: You're one of the people I'm looking for.

Djin: I beg your pardon?

Rue: I have a message for you - it's an important message. It could mean life or death. It's going to change everything.

Djin: What is it?

Rue: I....can't tell you. Not right now.

Djin: What?

Rue: This isn't the right time. It doesn't feel like the right time.

Djin: Why don't you just tell me what it is right now, so that I'll know and it will save you the trouble of doing it later?

Rue: Because this isn't the right time for you to know.

Djin: That still makes no sense.

Rue: If I told you now, it wouldn't work. You wouldn't know what it means.

Djin: Wouldn't I figure it out eventually? I am a very smart person, you know. My intellect is quite superb. Would it not be simpler just to tell me now so I may remember it later, when it does make sense?

Rue: No, it's more than just the message that's important. It's the time and place it's given.

Djin: But....how would telling me at this time and place affect the outcome?

Rue: It just would.

Djin: But how, exactly?

Rue: (pause) I'm sorry, but apparently I can't explain to you in a way that you can understand.

Djin: But....I'm the Head of the Mage's Guild. Highly intelligent. There is very little that I cannot understand.

Rue: Then this is one of those things. I'm sorry.

Djin: Why did you mention it, then?

Rue: I shouldn't have mentioned it. I really am sorry.

Djin: Well, never mind. That isn't important. I need to get back to Zardool, and the sooner the better.

(He halts here, and thinks about it for a second.)

No, wait, NOT the sooner the better. Nevermind. The later the better. That way, they'll never suspect, and that would give time for them to weaken....yes, that would work!

Rue: ....I think I'm confused.

Djin: Don't you see? Those idiots weren't Chosen by the Stone! They have no real right to the Seat! Without the Stone's support, their reign will start to crumble, and so when I come back, I'll be welcomed with open arms!
Well, either that, or I'll have to take it back by force. But it'll be easy enough by then, so I have no worries. A bunch of pompous fools, the lot of them. Disgusting.

Rue: So you're saying that you don't want to go to Zardool.

Djin: Well, not quickly. I can't go back now, otherwise I'll be spotted immediately, and they're still too strong, so that's a bad idea. No....what's the slowest way to Zardool?

Rue: Um.......well.....(takes out map)

Djin: (leaning over) Your map is.....unique.

Rue: The Matron drew it up for me.

Djin: She has an.....interesting style.

Rue: Her eyes are really bad.

Djin: Almost blind, by the looks of this map.

Rue: Hey, have respect for the Matron! This map has gotten me this far, hasn't it?

Djin: You're lost.

Rue: N-no! No, I'm not!

Djin: Yes, you are. Why are you trying to deny this?

Rue: Because....I'm not lost! I just got sidetracked.

Djin: By the map?

Rue: No, by the....by the.....I'm not lost!

Djin: You continue to deny this. And you are acting very flustered. I sense that you are embarrassed.

Rue: I'm not embarrassed! Stop doing that!

Djin: What is it that I am doing that causes so much distress? I am merely making an observation.

Rue: .....I'm sorry. I just....
(Sighs, and rubs her eyes.)
Yes, I am lost. I thought that that this was one of the trails marked on the map. And it wasn't, I guess.

Djin: Ah, yes. That is an embarrassing situation.
But one to which I may hold the solution.

Rue: What?

Djin: You see, as a mage, I can help find your destination. Not only that, I can help you reach it quickly and with little effort.

Rue: Well, that's very kind of you, but.....

Djin: We are going in the same direction, yes?

Rue: I....well, maybe. I have....many places I have to go to.

Djin: Is Zardool one of them?

Rue: Yes.

Djin: Do you have to be there soon? Or can you delay?

Rue:.....I was going to go to Ssardeel first.

Djin: Perfect! That's on the other side of the Ring! That should give me enough time to let them weaken before making my move. Perfect, perfect!

Rue: So....I'm guessing that you're going to come with me, then?

Djin: That is the logical conclusion.
Unless you would rather travel without my company, of course.

Rue: (looks at Jyn, thinking it over.)
Well, you seem like a good sort of person.
And you are a mage.
And....it will make delivering my message easier, not having to go look for you when it's time.

Djin: Well, then, we have reached an agreement.

Rue: I guess we have.

Djin: Very well, then. Now that that has been done with - where were you attempting to go, exactly, before we met?

Rue: I was trying to find the Dock. The one with the ship to Ssardeel.

Djin: Aahh, yes, that would be the Western Dock, then.
(takes map)

Rue: Um -

Djin: Let's see....if I read this map right
(to Rue)
Which I can't imagine I wouldn't
(back to map)
Then this little scribbling right here is meant to mark where the dock is.
And this little star-ish-looking mark is meant to be what I presume was your starting point. Yes?

Rue: Well, the starting-point, yes. That's what the Matron told me.

Djin: So, if that is true, then this little....line....right here - can you see it?
Rue: That's supposed to mark the Forest.

Djin: She marked it rather generously. Not necessary, since Krogoa is in fact one gigantic forest, but still, her attention to detail is commendable.

Rue: (impatiently) Yes, all right. So I'm guessing that line right there is the path to the Dock.

Djin: (pauses to look at map) Well, no, actually, it looks like it leads to one of the other villages. The Dock is a long ways away from your village - I am presuming that you were meant to stop at this marked village to rest for the night.

Rue: How far away is it?

Djin: (examining the map, then looking at the sky) I'd say....judging from the intentions this map emenates....about two miles.

Rue: Only two?

Djin: Well, while you were wandering around lost, you somehow managed to walk most of the way there. Very fortunate.

Rue: Huh.

Djin: If you still wish to travel to the village tonight, I would suggest walking in this direction (points) for about thirty minutes, and then following the path until you reach it.

Rue: All right.

Djin: However, I do have the means to get you to the Docks in only an hour. So, if you wish to get to Ssardeel in an expeditious manner, that might be the better option to take.

Rue: ....Oh. Huh.

(Djin looks at her, waiting for a decision)

Rue: (laughing uncomfortably) Heh heh. I've never had a mage help me before. This feels really strange. Um....I guess....I guess I do want to get to Ssardeel quickly....I have a feeling that my message there needs to be delivered soon.

Djin: I presume you are choosing the second option I have given you?

Rue: I guess I am.

Djin: Very well, then.

(carefully folds up map and tucks it in his jacket)

Djin: (holds out his hands) If you would kindly take my hands.

Rue: (doing as he says) What are you -

Djin: Give me a moment.....

All right. Here we go.

Rue: Wait -

(They are both suddenly thrust upward, and start to fly very speedily over the forest. )

Rue: AAH! WHAT...what are you doing?! How are we-?

Djin: I can't open a portal to the Dock, since that would have the Guild on me in a matter of minutes, so this is the only other way to do it.

Rue: H-how....aaaagh!

(covers her face with her hands, forcing Jyn to grab her poncho. He hoists his arms underneath Rue's lower arms, and they continue on)

Djin: I realize, of course, that this not the most comfortable way to travel, and I perhaps should have given you advance warning, but I was afraid that you would not agree to it otherwise.

Rue: D-did you WANT me to agree?

Djin: (smiles awkwardly) Yes, I will admit that I did. I have been aching to use the Alteration for a long, long time.

Rue: The...what....

Djin: I will admit, yes, that was selfish of me. But here, this is fast, isn't it?

Rue: (gulps) Can I close my eyes? Please?

Djin: By all means. It won't have any impact on me or this spell.

(Rue shuts her eyes tightly. We see them going off in the distance, and we move on to the next chapter.)
